Pioneer produces extraction parachute assemblies in both United States Army and Air Force versions. The type of canopy used as extraction parachutes are flat circular ringslot configurations which are a highly stable and robust design.Extraction parachutes are used in lowvelocity airdrops for aerial delivery of light, medium or heavy cargo. The drop begins with the pendulum ejection of the extraction parachute. Once the parachute has deployed, it pulls the cargo platform out of the aircraft.
Low Altitude Platform Extraction System(LAPES) uses a single extraction parachute to pull a cluster of ring slot parachutes attached to a cargo platform. These cargo aircraft can facilitate a LAPES delivery as low as five (5) feet above the drop zone. All parachutes are produced in accordancewith the latest applicable U.S. Government and Parachute Industry Association (PIA) specifications specs click to enlarge images EXTRACTION PARACHUTES US Army 15, 22 and 28 foot US Air Force 15, 22, and 28 foot
