Pioneer Aerospace Corporation designed and delivered a completely self contained, drop-in multi-stage parachute system for the SLAM ATV. The slender shape, combined with a bolt-in only, lanyard-pull operation (no electronics), safety initiation device, and high deployment speeds, made this system a special packaging and performance challenge. The ATV was used for safe separation of the missile from the aircraft in the early 1990’s.
